Know What's on the Hook with the SafeLift Load Sensor
Most overhead cranes have no way of telling the operator what is on the hook. Operators judge by eye, by the paperwork, or by how the hoist sounds. The SafeLift Load Sensor changes that without changing your crane.
A single sensor bonds directly to the hoist or trolley structure and reads how the steel flexes as the crane lifts. The I-5000 indicator turns that reading into a live load value and trips its relays at the limits you set. The same sensor fits any crane capacity, type or model. There is no load pin to replace, no change to the reeving, and no loss of headroom.
Manufactured by Flexco Industries. Distributed exclusively by SafeLift Crane Aid in Saskatchewan and Northern Manitoba. The manufacturer trained our technicians on site to bond, wire and calibrate the system. We supply it, install it, load-test it with certified weights, and support it afterward.

Overload Protection and Slack Rope / Chain Detection
Overload cut-off
The I-5000 indicator has two programmable dry-contact relays (240 V / 12 A max) that tie into your crane controls. They block the hoist UP function when the load exceeds the capacity you set.
Slack rope / chain detection
Once the load is landed, the relays block DOWN so the hoist can't pay out loose rope or chain.
The relays can also drive warning lights or buzzers, or lock out a grapple or hook release. An adjustable time delay compensates for load swing, so you get fewer nuisance trips.

Live Load Display
Bright 7-digit LED indicator
The I-5000 sits in a stainless steel enclosure.
Big remote display
Riggers and operators can read the load from the floor. The standard kit uses a 2" display, and a 6.5" display is available.
Wireless zero/tare button: it needs no battery and comes in the kit.
PLC integration (on request): where a crane needs an analog output to a PLC (4–20 mA or 0–10 V), Flexco offers the I-600 indicator. It has the same features as the I-5000, plus analog outputs.

Why the Flexco Sensor Is Different
One sensor for any crane. The same sensor works regardless of crane capacity, type or model.
No modification. The sensor bonds to the existing structure, so nothing is removed or redesigned.
Minimal downtime. Installation is quick.
No lost headroom. There is no in-line load cell under the hook.
Built for Saskatchewan shops. The FLEX-C sensor is rated for -40 to +60 °C. The I-5000 indicator is rated for -25 to +70 °C, so on outdoor or unheated cranes we mount it in heated space or an enclosure.
Proven in the field. Three years of field trials without a failure.
Recognized in the industry. Flexco states that its overhead-crane sensor is approved by the CSST (Québec's workplace health and safety board) and by many lifting-industry OEMs.

Why Buy from SafeLift Crane Aid
Crane people, not a parts counter. We inspect, repair and load-test overhead cranes across Saskatchewan every week. We know where the sensor goes on your hoist and how to wire the relays into your controls.
Flexco-trained technicians. Flexco trained our team on site in Langham on how and where to bond the sensor and how to calibrate it.
Installed and calibrated with real weight. Calibration needs a known load, so we bring certified test weights. We can load-test your crane on the same visit.
Local support. One call to Langham covers installation, troubleshooting and recalibration, with Flexco's engineering team behind us.
Works with any brand. Demag, R&M, Kito and older hoists all work, because nothing on the hoist is modified.
Industries We Serve
Mining and mill operations, including Northern Manitoba mines
Power generation and utilities
Steel fabrication and processing
Manufacturing plants
Heavy equipment and maintenance shops
Agricultural equipment manufacturing
Warehouses and industrial yards with overhead lifting

Other Applications
The same Flexco sensor can also be used for weighing-only setups, with a handheld wireless display instead of an overload cut-off. Ask us about other lifting applications.
