Why a chain hoist?
-
Compact and light. A chain hoist takes up less room than a rope hoist and fits easily on a monorail, jib crane, workstation crane or single-girder crane.
-
Easy to look after. On today's models the gearboxes, brakes and slip clutches need little or no attention for years. Plug-in connections make inspections and part swaps quick.
-
Built-in overload protection. A slip clutch and upper and lower limit switches come standard, protecting the hoist, the load and the operator.
-
Precise control. Two-speed or variable-speed lifting lets your crew place heavy or delicate parts gently, then move quickly when the hook is empty.
Demag chain hoists
Demag builds its DC chain hoist range in Wetter, Germany. Below are the families listed on Demag's chain hoist page.

Key Benefits
-
Load capacities up to 5,000 kg
-
Two lifting speeds as standard
-
24 V contactor control, upper and lower operating limit switches, operating hour counter
-
Gearbox, brake and slip clutch maintenance-free for up to 10 years (brake up to 5 years on sizes 10–25)

Stepless lifting and lowering over the full load range, with a creep speed from 0.15 m/min (DCS 1)
-
Pro-Hub: up to 90% faster at part load or with no load

Lifting speed, acceleration and braking ramps adjustable from the control

Demag DCM-Pro Manulift
A DC-Pro hoist with the control built into the load handle, so one hand runs the hoist and guides the load.
Key Benefits
-
Loads up to 250 kg
-
Two lifting speeds as standard
-
Quick-change coupling for hooks, tongs, grippers or custom attachments
-
Works for left- and right-handed operators

Demag DCMS-Pro Manulift
The variable-speed version of the Manulift, built on the DCS-Pro hoist, for exact one-handed positioning.
Key Benefits
-
Loads up to 250 kg
-
Stepless speed control, creep speed from 0.15 m/min
-
Pro-Hub: up to 90% faster at part load
-
Ramps that reduce load sway, plus motor temperature monitoring

Demag DCBS (balancer function)
A DC-series hoist that works like a balancer. The operator guides the load with a fingertip, either at the D-Grip Servo handle or right on the load.
Key Benefits
-
Loads up to 250 kg, in two sizes
-
Load-control, load pick-up and joining modes
-
Slack-chain protection, and stops if the load changes suddenly
-
External load sensor option for lifting columns and custom attachments

Demag special solutions and trolleys
Demag KDC low-headroom travelling hoist
A compact monorail travelling hoist with a very small C dimension. It works with KBK suspension cranes and monorails.
-
Up to 2,000 kg
-
Two-stage or variable lifting and cross-travel speeds
-
Upper and lower operating limit switches standard
-
FEM up to 4m (6,300 hours)

Demag KLDC for big bags
A low-headroom travelling hoist with an extended hook lead-off, so long big-bag load bars can still reach full lift height.
-
Up to 2,000 kg
-
Two-stage or variable lifting and travel speeds
-
Upper and lower operating limit switches
-
Pairs with the KBK light crane system

Demag LDC-D & KLDC-D double chain hoists
Two mechanically synchronised chain lead-offs keep long or bulky loads level, such as bar stock or spreader work.
-
LDC-D: up to 5,000 kg, for higher speeds (up to 24 m/min)
-
KLDC-D: low headroom, up to 2,000 kg
-
Two-stage or variable speed
-
Stationary, push-travel or electric-travel

Demag LDC-Q quadro chain hoist
One hoist drives four mechanically synchronised chains, so loads with a large surface area lift evenly.
-
Up to 3,200 kg
-
Four attachment points
-
Two-stage or variable lifting speeds
-
Smooth starts and stops keep sway low

Trolleys for DC chain hoists
Trolleys matched to DC hoists, for I-beams or the KBK light crane system. Push or electric travel.
-
U-type push trolleys, E-type electric trolleys, click-fit and KBK trolleys
-
Adjustable to the beam flange width
-
DDC articulated trolley for curved I-beam track (minimum radius 800 mm)

All Demag DC hoists: the safety functions meet at least Performance Level c, Category 2 (EN ISO 13849-1). The brake sits ahead of the slip clutch in the load path, so the load can't drop when the hoist is stopped.
R&M chain hoists
R&M electric chain hoists have all-aluminium bodies, a slip clutch for overload protection, and upper and lower limit switches as standard.
R&M LR electric chain hoist
R&M's newest chain hoist: a low-headroom, economical design rated for more than a million operations.
-
1/8–2 ton (125–2,000 kg)
-
10, 15 and 20 ft (3, 4.5 and 6 m) standard lifts, longer in 1 ft or 1 m steps
-
Two-speed (4:1) or single-speed hoisting, with push or motorized trolley options
-
Load tested at 125% at the factory; slip clutch set at 110%

R&M LK electric chain hoist
A quiet, compact hoist built for heavier work. Its drive train was first designed to meet the entertainment industry's noise and size limits.
-
1/8–5 ton (125–5,000 kg), single or two-fall
