The 55 tonne WaterWeights standard raindrop-shaped bag is our largest rental bag, for heavy proof load tests on large overhead, gantry and mobile cranes and structures. Two filling connections make filling faster.


WaterWeights water-filled proof load test bags are a safer, more flexible alternative to solid test weights. The load is raised gradually and under control, so any problem shows up before the full test load is reached. An empty bag weighs only a small fraction of its test load, so it ships, handles and stores easily, and it is filled with water on site.


Specifications (Type BS 55S – Standard):

- Filled height (overall, to lifting point): approx. 32 ft (9.75 m)

- Filled maximum diameter: approx. 15 ft (4.57 m)

- Filling connection: 2 x 2.5" Storz (two filling connections for faster filling)

- Use: Up to three bags can hang from one lifting point. Special rigging is needed for more than three.

- Proof tested: every bag is physically proof tested at 2:1

- Skin material: PVC-coated polyester fibre canvas

- Maximum wind speed in use: 25 knots

- When a bag is filled below full capacity, its diameter gets smaller and its length increases.
